Members of iconic California hardcore band Black Flag have reunited for a Summer tour of the U.S. and Canada. Now calling themselves simply Flag, five of punk’s pioneers are making sure their spray-painted mark on the history of music is there to stay.
Black Flag to this day remain one of the most influential bands of the 80’s hardcore punk movement. It’s original members Keith Morris, Dez Cadena, Bill Stevenson, and Chuck Dukowski, along with Descendents guitarist Stephen Egerton have teamed up under the name Flag to perform songs from all eras of the band’s musical lifespan.
Following a handful of European festival dates, the five Flag musicians came together in April of this year for a special performance at Redondo Beach’s Moose Lodge, the same venue that hosted Black Flag’s first gig in 1979.
With pre-Rollins vocalists Morris and Cadena sharing screaming duties, these upcoming shows are going to be a welcome throwback to some of punk rock’s best days.
