This Week in Chicago (May 13-19)

It’s HoZac Blackout Fest this week at the Empty Bottle, where the garage/punk label will be taking over the venue Thursday through Sunday night for performances from the likes of Tyvek, Eat Skull and Wizzard Sleeve. Elsewhere, Swedish indie pop outfit Shout Out Louds come to Metro on Thursday (5/16) and the alt country odes of Futurebirds grace Schubas on Friday (5/17). Also in town over the next seven days: the Thermals at Lincoln Hall (5/15), Laura Stevenson at Beat Kitchen (5/18) and the Shins at Aragon Ballroom (5/19).
