Joseph Arthur Announces New Album The Ballad Of Boogie Christ Set for June 2013 Release

The folk rock singer announces the details of this concept album, his first since last year’s Redemption City. He says it’s a “psychedelic soul record about redemption and what happens after you find it and lose it.”

Joseph Arthur has launched a pledge music campaign to fund his upcoming album, The Ballad of Boogie Christ out June 11 via Lonely Astronaut Records. Arthur is exploring new territory in this concept album which includes horns and soul singers to help relate the story of a fictional but semi-autobiographical character. A track list has not been announced yet but the album, which had its start as Arthur was sifting through archives of previously unfinished or abandoned material, will contain 11 songs. He plans to support the album with a set of North American tour dates in June.
