Damon Albarn announced plans for a new Blur album during a Hong Kong performance Sunday night.
Following a statement informing the Chinese audience that Blur’s Tokyo and Taipei shows would be cancelled, the frontman dropped an even bigger bomb on the crowd:
“So we have a week in Hong Kong, and we thought it would be a good time to try and record another record.”
The news comes just less than a year after Albarn declared that Blur’s performance at the Olympic Closing Ceremony would be their last. Work on a new album was halted a few months prior to the event.
