Vampire Weekend has taken a most interesting route towards all star promotion as they have recently teamed with actor/comedian Steve Buscemi to boost their live webcast that aired globally for fans on April 28th. Before that time, Buscemi and the crew released number of gleefully, entertaining videos supporting their effort at a local bowling alley, as well as making sure to record the downsides of advertising when Buscemi’s invitation totally gets dissed by Canadian musician Claire Boucher aka Grimes. After all of the ‘pubbing’, and as the webcast itself turned out to be a huge success, Vampire Weekend moves on to their next undertaking releasing the newest video from their forthcoming album Modern Vampires of the City, titled Ya Hey.
The video is produced through a lyrical structure, as several individuals are seen celebrating in a sort of regretfully, restrained fashion. If indeed this is a celebration, Vampire Weekend has plenty of reasons for jubilance as Modern Vampires of the City is the band’s first full length recording since they last released their sophomore album Contra which debuted #1 on Billboard charts in 2010.
