No band plays psych-rock like Japan’s Acid Mother’s Temple. Few guitarists can shred like Kawabata Makoto. And few bands possess the intuitive companionship between members that always results in a great performance. Born in 1995 with a purpose of ‘extreme trip music’ the band was dubbed a soul collective and featured many musicians dedicated to experimental and free-form music. Many incarnations later and a core four piece has held the name for the past few years, playing improvised space-rock with American psych rock, drone and world music elements. They play unforgettable concerts, and are known to have some of the best psychedelic art posters.
