Frank Zappa fans can expect reissues of Freak Out, Over-Nite Sensation and Finer Moments.
Last year when Zappa’s musical rights were switched back to Zappa Records and his Zappa Family Trust was put in charge his entire discography became available on iTunes. Now three of his classic albums are being reissued on vinyl. Finer Moments has already been reissued and can be found on Amazon. Finer Moments is a mostly instrumental album which was recorded in the 1970s but didn’t get officially released until 2012. In June Freak Out and Over-Nite Sensation will be available on vinyl. Freak Out was Zappa’s 1966 debut album and is considered one of the first concept albums which follows Zappa’s satirical point of view of American pop culture. Over-Nite Sensation is Zappa 17th studio album and is famous for being recorded in the same sessions as his popular Apostrophe (‘).
