Off shore comedy genius Steve Buscemi and indie rock band Vampire Weekend have indirectly cross paths recently (Buscemi and bass player Chris Baio have haphazardly been found to be distant cousins) to form an ‘odd couple’ kind of relationship in promoting a Vampire Weekend live webcast, directed by Buscemi, and set to air April 28th. Buscemi and the crew are releasing a strew of awkwardly hilarious videos, exploiting the skillfully, clumsy bond that Buscemi and the boys share.
Everything from Steve promoting the webcast at a bowling alley, of all places, to the guys squatting along a local picnic table for the means of painting Easter eggs, is on exhibition for fans to get a closer peek into Buscemi and the bands social schism.
This week the guys bump into Canadian director/musician Claire Boucher, aka Grimes, at a local park, and the meeting turns out to be very interesting to say the least.
Recently, Vampire Weekend has been working on their fourth studio album Modern Vampires of the City, which will be released into stores May 7th via XL records. The band has already packed their bags as they are in the midst of a three month road trip that won’t end until mid August.
Vampire Weekend has a lot in store for fans this year as you can see, so check out the video below and jump aboard the Weekend train this summer, May 28th is right around the corner you know.
UPDATE: You can watch the webcast live right here:
