Die Antwoord members, Yo Landi Vi$$er and Ninja, will be starring in a new sci-fi film directed by South African filmmaker Neil Blomkamp. The movie will be called Chappie, and it will serve as a sci-fi comedy where Die Antwoord will lead the roles, starring as themselves.

The movie is set to shoot later this year in Johannesburg, South Africa and is said to have a $50 million budget to play with. Similarly, there are a lot of “have said’s” in this instance as no one remotely involved with the new film is saying very much about it. The only piece of information to leak so far is that the film will center around a “really ridiculous robot”.
If the movie is anything like the playfully bizarre schemes Die Antwoord has pulled off in videos of the past, then the feature should be an entertaining one.
