Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson, known afresh as indie hip hop doublet, The Uncluded, are waiting until May 7 this year to release their rookie album Hokey Fright.
Described as a disc filled with thoughts and questions of death and the afterlife, the Uncluded attempts to process this thing we call “life”, while surfacing over a collection of whimsical tunes that take you on a journey, all in the aims of figuring out the mysteries of mortality.
The Uncluded used the length of about a year to record the album, ensuring that every track was occupied with the indefinite, hypothetical lyrics Aesop Rock is so skilled at providing; all the while, every word is uncarefully smoothed over by elementary melodies pressed from the soul of Dawson.
The album, already in high anticipation, is ignited even the more, as the duo has announced a lengthy set of tour dates set to spring into summer. Starting next month the group will begin down an extensive road trip, a trip that will take them from one side of the nation to the next, in order to support their forthcoming LP.
As mentioned, shows start in May and wont be concluding until early August. To catch a live set, check out the tour dates below.
