De La Soul’s latest song pays homage to rap royalty, Wu-Tang.
Posdnuos of De La Soul told Rolling Stone that after accidentally finding an old Wu-Tang album, he got the idea to add drums to “Intro” on Disc Two of Wu-Tang Forever.
He also added that it only felt right to include Wu-Tang in the full song title, “Get Away (feat. the Spirit of the Wu).”
The Long Island based rap trio is set to release this track on their album, You’re Welcome, set for this fall.
