DIIV Cancels May Shows For Upcoming European Tour

To anyone who planned on flying over to Europe to see DIIV, I hope you bought travel insurance. You are better off sticking closer to home to see a DIIV performance.


Frontman Zachary Cole Smith cites the reason for the tour being cut short as needing a break from the road. He says he has been on tour for about three years.

“It’s an unspoken thing, it’s not real articulated pressure to constantly tour, but I do feel it… There’s just this constant barrage of stuff,” said Smith. “As an artist, the biggest, most important reason for me to do this is to write and create. That then becomes the thing that falls by the wayside because you have to keep all this other stuff going.”

In addition to be being burnt out, Smith said that booking mistakes are also a reason. He said that due to these mistakes the European portion of the tour would have lost thousands of dollars.

As of now, the North American Tour remains unchanged.
