The Mountain Goats will be hitting the road once again this summer, performing as a duo for the first time in several years. Frontman John Darnielle was inspired to take his folk-rock outfit back to its two-man roots after scheduling conflicts prevented Superchunk’s Jon Wurster from joining the group at a gig in Poland. Darnielle and longtime collaborator Peter Hughes will be joined by the Baptist Generals, whose long-awaited sophomore LP will debut on May 21 via Sub Pop.
