The Roots to Follow Jimmy Fallon to The Tonight Show

In an almost awkward interview with a Roots band member, it was confirmed that the band will stay when Jimmy Fallon changes coasts with The Tonight Show.

The Roots drummer, Questlove, let it slip in an interview with Fuse, and we have the video to prove it (see below). The Roots will stay with Fallon when he and his show make the move from California to New York. Although the switch won’t be immediate, it is said that it will be done by Fall 2014.

The alternative funk band has been with The Tonight Show since it’s inception in 2009. In addition to that, the group won several Grammy Awards, including one in 2011 for Best R&B Album for Wake Up! .
