Greg Dulli is set to honor his old Sub Pop ties with an appearance at the label’s Silver Jubilee on July 13, where he’s set to unleash some of the newer solo music he’s been working on.

In celebration of Sub Pop’s 25th Anniversary, Dulli, accompanied at the Seattle show by guitarist Dave Rosser and multi-instrumentalist Rick Nelson, will be joining such acts as J Mascis, Mudhoney, Father John Misty and more. But while this show will reveal some of the music he’s recorded in recent years, Dulli recently stated to Billboard that no plans have been set to release these to the public.
I write songs all the time, so I’ve got a ton around — a couple hours’ worth, at least. They’re me, and right now I really like when songs are kind of stripped-down and haven’t been put through a band machine yet. They’re very kind of pure and innocent, and I want to perform them this way before or if I decide to run them through a band machine. I have a studio in my house and I’m happy not rolling all over the world for a little while and just kind of hanging out and living my life and watching baseball games and taking walks.
Dulli did announce that he’s been working on an album with The Church’s Steve Kilbey, however, someone he states as a heavy influence on his own sound and songwriting. Earlier this year, the two spent two and a half weeks hammering out songs together in Australia, but there’s no set time for the album to be released.
Says Dulli:
I don’t really do well with timetables. Timetables get me in trouble. But it is ongoing and we’ve been sending things back and forth over the (Internet) and are definitely working at putting out a record together.
