Mount Eerie is Phil Elverum, a subtle voice and an intense composer. He was first The Microphones from the mid 1990’s until 2004, when he changed his moniker to Mount Eerie. Native to Washington State, Elverum works on concept, and each album serves for a specific purpose, feeling, or thought and is often inspired by the great outdoors. His two releases in 2012, Clear Moon and Ocean Roar are both musical landscapes taking one on a journey into the great wilderness. Clear Moon is soft synths and pondering clarity like the sun through an early morning fog. Ocean Roar is the dark and dense old growth hills leading down to the black ocean. Often experimental, always harmonious, and sometimes even with a 6 foot gong, Mount Eerie will not disappoint even the most avid concert-goer.
Touring with Lauren Ashley Eriksson, an acoustic-experimental, comedic or ironic, singer-songwriter reminiscent of the anti-folk genre.
