Set for release in select cities April 5th and a nationwide launch on April 12th, “The Place Beyond the Pines” is a bold new drama from the director of Blue Valentine, who has created an embracing emotional journey by powerfully exploring the unbreakable bond between fathers and sons. The film centers around Luke (Ryan Gosling), a stuntman turned bank robber trying to find a balance between providing for his ex-lover (Eva Mendes) and their son, and living a criminal life in order to do just that. Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper) is a police officer who is trying to find a similar balance on the other side of the law, and when his path crosses with Luke’s, the result reverberates into the next generation.
The soundtrack for the film is provided by Mike Patton, American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist best known as the lead singer of the alternative metal/experimental rock band Faith No More. In addition to Mike’s score, the album features an eclectic selection of music by the likes of Vladimir Ivanoff (Miserere Mei), Arvo Park (Fratres), Bon Iver (The Wolves), and Ennio Morricone (Ninna Nanna Per Adulteri), among others.
