If you haven’t heard, David Byrne and Annie Clark/St. Vincent birthed collaborative album, Love this Giant, on September 12th, 2012. The story goes that David Byrne (of Talking Heads) would show up to St. Vincent’s early shows at the Bowery Ballroom. A spontaneous acquaintance years later was made, and in the Fall of 2009 they were approached by Housing Works to do a night of music for charity. From that request they began to create, and what came out of the project was a very democratic dialogue, and something that sounds completely new – a sign of a fresh and true collaborative work but also to be expected of such experienced and cutting edge musicians. Stream the album here, if you haven’t already. They will embark on Love This Giant tour in June, and The Fox Theatre Oakland will be their last USA stop.
