Astronautalis and Rickolus Announce Limited Split Album Set For April 2013 Release

Fellow artists, and best-pals Astronautalis and Rickolus, have decided to use their friendship towards another means by collaborating to produce a new album on Fanfare Records, due to release April 23, 2013. After picking each other’s brains last year during the SXSW festival in Texas, the two gentleman came up with the idea to join forces for the project and now the plan has developed into fruition.

The album contains two songs, split 7″ each, respectively by both artist.

Pre-order for the cut begins tomorrow, March 24th, and is sure to be swallowed quickly with only a limited 650 copies being released. With that being said, not everyone will get their hands on a copy, but at least you have the comfort of knowing the guys had a grand time while working on the record. Here’s how Rickolus explains it all:

On Fallen Street – Andy made the beat and I played guitars, wrote the lyrics and sang…and on The Rainmakers I played the guitar and Drums and Andy wrote the words and sang. The advantage of two friends getting together to work on music is that they know each other’s strengths and weaknesses – good for us that that weaknesses didn’t rear their nasty little heads this time around…Only an abundance of strength in this one!

Rickolus and Astronautalis have both planned to tour this Spring in anticipation of the album. Tour dates are below.
