The Staves are a trio of sisters from Watford, England creating beautiful, delicate folk music. Their angelic voices were perfect for the peaceful oasis of St. David’s church, and their set transported the audience for Communion’s showcase to a world far from the frenzy of SXSW. Although the sisters took turns singing lead, they came together for their trademark tight harmonies; songs like “Mexico” and “Pay Us No Mind” echoed in the majestic venue. It was a stunning moment in the week of already-exceptional Austin events.
