Deerhunter Announce New Album Monomania Set for May 2013 Release

Deerhunter have announced that their fifth studio album, Monomania, will be released May 2013.

As Spin notes, the press release announces the album in an interesting fashion,

is avant garde(?) but only in context not form (original intent of avant garde (1912-59) / before logic: FOG MACHINE / LEATHER / NEON

The band recently changed their lineup by expanding into five members. Touring member Frankie Broyles will now play guitar and bassist Josh McKay will replace Joshua Fauver.

The album was recorded in Brooklyn and will be available May 7.
