Toro Y Moi currently calls the Bay Area home, but he gave a shout-out to his South Carolina roots at the beginning of his set for the Windish Agency’s day party. The artist clearly felt at home on the Mohawk stage, as he turned chill pop songs from hit album Anything In Return into outright funky jams. The set was filled with groove-worthy soul, textured and crafted to perfection. Songs like “Say That” and “Rose Quartz” had a completely different feel in this amped-up live context, and the simmering electro-soul was just right for the summery afternoon.
