Thee Oh Sees live are an onslaught of insane garage fueled energy. They played the main stage at Hotel Vegas, and had a performance unmatched by any other that shared the stage that night. Frontman John Dwyer shared stories of how he’s too old for cocaine, and tossed his mop of hair around wildly while a mosh pit began to swell at the stage. Soon, the tent was shaking, and the overhead lights rocking as kids grabbed onto the support beams while crowd surfing. Nervous security, a band that is relentless, and a background of people peaking over the fence, and standing on van roofs. Thee Oh Sees set at the Levitation showcase represented the best qualities of SXSW shows. A great time with a touch of pure chaos.
