California band The Allah-las played a retro surf-guitar and tambourine heavy set that made it feel like an ocean breeze was whipping through the hot, stuffy inside stage area. The set-list included tracks ‘Cataraman,’ and ‘Busman’s Holiday’ off the self-titled LP. During track ‘Long Journey,’ the lead vocal and drum positions were switched off, and it was discovered that their drummer can play a mean set of maracas. The Allah-las have a beautiful sound inspired by the instrumentation of decades past. It’s rare and lovely to hear.
