IO Echo, the two-member group (expanded to four live) displayed another bold and excellent use of distortion and dreamy sound effects. Led by Kimono-clad Ioanna Gika on vocals and Leopold Ross on guitar, the group happily pounded out layers of synths and bar-chord melodies while Gika exuberantly jumped up-and-down. The band was lively in their delivery and that tremendously helped. It means the world to see the band as excited about their own music as they expect you to be. And it reflected in the audience’s enjoyment of the set.
