Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs once again proved how they are ready to take up the mantle of one of the top bands in the USA right now. As they have in the past, Zinner shreds out each chord with a furious punk energy, Chase slams the drums like the hep cats of old and Karen O bounces, shouts and struts with an unnerving sense of confidence. There are few women in rock music that can pull such a unique sound, look and ease. “Maps” delivered the soulful power, and “Sacrilege” showed just how far the group can push their sound as they continue to evolve. This is true stage presence exhibited in such a way that almost all bands should take note of.
