The Joy Formidable Live at the Noisey-Garnier Style Stage at VICELAND SXSW 2013

Last up for Wednesday (technically day 2 of SXSW 2013) were the ever better, The Joy Formidable. Playing inside at VICELAND, the Welsh trio hammered out a clean and aggressive alternative rock. Lead singer/guitarist Ritzy Bryan glides like a cat around the stage, one moment at the mic shouting, instants later sparring with bassist Rhydian Dafydd and half a second after that smacking a cymbal on drummer Matt Thomas’ kit. Simply put, The Joy Formidable is proof-positive of how exciting and fun a rock group can be with a confident lead female.
