There’s something about completely owning a classic that simply revitalizes a band. For The Lone Bellow, it was their reworking of “Angel of Montgomery” that pushed the folksters into a whole other level of mastery. Harmonies sounded brighter, instrumentations got a little tighter, and in that tail end of their set, they had turned The Blackheart in Austin into a country-tinged soirée worthy of every handclap and holler.
