After the release of Arthur Ashin’s latest album “Anxiety” last week, overwhelming praise from critics have put him in the spotlight. Sleek R&B sophistication and entrancing vocals are highlighted in the official music video for “Play By Play,” which can be viewed here.
Ashin, who releases music under the Autre Ne Veut title, possesses both a raw and controlled power in his voice which allows for a highly emotionally evocative performance.
The video was designed around the concept of paranoia. It was directed by Georgie Greville and Geremy Jasper, who previously teamed up to create stunningly creative videos for artists such as Goldfrapp and Florence and the Machine. It was also co-produced by Urban Outfitters, who have a long history of involvement with promising new independent artists. Their UO Music Video Series has continuously aided musicians including Tame Impala, Peaking Lights, and Beach Fossils on their journey to success, and at the moment, Autre Ne Veut seems likely to venture down the same well-trodden road.
He recently played a sold-out hometown show in New York City and is currently in the midst of a highly anticipated national tour.
