James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem is suing the co-founder of DFA Records for almost $100,000.
Consequence of Sound is reporting James Murphy is suing his fellow DFA founder Tim Goldsworthy for almost 100,000 dollars. Murphy is citing “unjust enrichment” and a “breach in contract” and is seeking the money that is owed to the label in addition to punitive damages and legal fees. This comes after Goldsworthy relocated from New York to the U.K. without informing any members of the company. It is reported that Goldsworthy hasn’t made sufficient contact with anyone at the record label and DFA’s label manager has said, “We have had no word from him since he left the United States. So we moved on with our lives and our business…He most definitely took a piece of us when he left.”
