Excited for The Breeders’ reunion tour? There’s more! On April 23, The Breeders will release the deluxe version of their platinum album Last Splash in a vinyl box set to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Read on for more details.
This limited edition box set has quite the collection that fans would not want to miss out on. It includes seven vinyls and three CDs of songs that you probably have heard before, and some demos that were unreleased. The full details of what is included are 12-inch vinyls of (1) Last Splash in its original form prior to remixing and remastering; (2) BBC radio session recorded on July 24, 1993 along with demos from Last Splash dating back to November 1992; (3) the live concert album Stockholm Syndrome from 1994 during the band’s last European tour. The fun fact about Stockholm Syndrome is that seven tracks on that album appeared only on a “fan club only” CD and was exclusive for quite some time. Additionally, nine tracks from the concert, previously unreleased, are included. Finally, four 10-inch EPs will also be given: Safari, Cannonball, Divine Hammer, and Head To Toe. For the art appreciators, a booklet amounting to 24 pages will be included that features never-before-seen photographs taken during the last recording session of Last Splash. Find this group at the end of the month in Brooklyn at New York’s Bell House and here Last Splash live.
