Iggy and The Stooges are back for new album Ready To Die for an April 30th release.
Iggy and the Stooges are returning with new album Ready To Die for a April 30th release date. This is the first Iggy and the Stooges album since the 1973 Raw Power sessions. Since the initial breakup, mostly due to heroin addictions, Iggy Pop went on to a successful solo career before reuniting the band under the original moniker The Stooges with Ron and Scott Asheton. The Stooges released The Weirdness in 2007 and toured the country before Ron Asheton died in 2009. The band is reuniting again, this time known as Iggy and the Stooges, with guitarist James Williamson. The title ‘Iggy and the Stooges’ first appeared on the cover of Raw Power and in a statement Iggy addressed the name difference stating, “although ‘the Stooges’ died with Ron Asheton, there is still ‘Iggy and the Stooges’.” You can watch an advertisement for Ready To Die below.
