An unlikely duo to say the least, it seems Dave Gahan, lead singer for Depeche Mode, was a bit surprised about the occurrence as well.

“I was singing, Martin [Gore] on guitar, a few of the other guys,” Gahan said. “Suddenly in the doorway, I sensed this presence, and I realised there was this guy standing there just watching. An assistant came up to me in between songs and said, ‘Do you mind? Frank Ocean is here working in another studio and really wants to meet you guys.’ I wouldn’t have thought he would have even known who we are, but it turns out he’s a big fan.”

The two parties both happened to be at a studio in New York, at the same time recording their forthcoming albums, when Frank Ocean expressed his interest in the UK’s legendary band. Depeche Mode, working to put the finishing touches on their upcoming project Delta Machine, set to release on March 26, collaborated on a song with Frank Ocean, who is also working on his second album. The song is said to appear on Ocean’s album when released. Here are a few masterpiece’s from each of the artists’ respectively.
