Berklee is back again as the only college to throw an official party at SXSW, bringing up-and-coming Berklee, Berkleemusic.com, and Heavy Rotation Records (HRR) alumni and students to Austin on March 15th. Covering genres from rock to pop to electronica to folk, the lineup includes acclaimed singer-songwriter Melissa Ferrick, David Stewart Jr., Air Traffic Controller, Chloë Sunshine, Red Oblivion, Bear Language, Rebecca Loebe, The Lights Out, Holiday Mountain, and The Field Effect. Island Creek Oysters will be there providing a free oyster bar, which is likely the classiest bar you will be at the entire week. The day party is open to badge-holders but only free for the public with RSVP, so read on after the jump for RSVP and details (and a free party sampler with streaming and downloads!)
12 noon-6pm Friday, March 15 @ Brush Square Park (East Tent), 409 East 5th St. (Neches & 5th) Austin, TX
In addition to good tunes and free oysters, free copies of student-run HRR’s Dorm Sessions 8, featuring Red Oblivion and Bear Language, will be given away. In the meantime, check out the party sampler with streaming and free downloads at their bandcamp, and email sxswrsvp@berklee.edu to attend free of charge!
