Just two years after 2011’s Th1rt3en, released through Roadrunner Records, Megadeth is looking forward to their new relationship with Tradecraft, which is distributed by Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). The new label, run by the band’s lead man Dave Mustaine, will have UMe’s muscle behind it, prompting Mustaine to state that this is Megadeth’s “most exciting and prestigious home” thus far in their career. The signing was made possible when Megadeth split with Roadrunner, for whom they completed their contract. With the recent purchase of EMI, furthermore, UMe will now own Megadeth’s Capitol Records catalog, which includes 7 albums.

Having been in the music business for decades, Mustaine pointed out that many of the folks over at UMe have worked with Megadeth in years past, thus making the transition a smooth one. 11 songs have already been completed on the new album being recorded at Mustaine’s studio near San Diego, CA. The group has stated that it would like to add a few more songs for additional versions of the LP.
