The first ever Shaky Knees Festival of Atlanta, Georgia announced its 2013 lineup. The lineup includes 28 bands and three outdoor stages.
The biggest name to hit the stage at the festival will be “Best New Artist” Grammy nominees, The Lumineers who grabbed the musical spotlight with their hit “Ho Hey.”
Atlanta promoter, Tim Sweetwood developed the eclectic, two day festival.
“I’m not trying to appeal to every music fan or break into territory that has already been well covered by other festivals,” said Sweetwood. “I’d love for people to be able to find enough of a connection in the lineup to be familiar with several of the artists. But I wanted to offer enough of a range musically that they could get turned on to an artist they might never have heard of but end up loving.”
The festival will be held in Historic Fourth Ward Park and Masquerade Music Park, May 4 and 5. Shaky Knees Festival will be the first major music event held in Historic Fourth Ward Park since its completion.
“The Historic Fourth Ward Park Conservancy and Atlanta BeltLine did such an amazing job putting together the park and it’s brought so much more life to the area,” said Sweetwood. “We’re really excited and grateful to be able to have access to the park’s event lawn for our festival site.”
The festival will also feature local food trucks, artisans and vendors. Tickets and VIP passes go on sale on February 7 at Ticketmaster.
