Vampire Weekend Announces New Album Modern Vampires of the City Set For May 2013 Release

Indie-Pop group are back with their third LP titled Modern Vampires of the City. Read More for official tour dates and information.Indie-rock darlings Vampire Weekend are returning with new album and a full blown tour. The album, Modern Vampires of the City, is set to be released on May 7th in the U.S. and May 6th in the U.K. via XL Recordings. Earlier this year front man Ezra Koenig descried the album as “dark” and “organic” which followed a performance of new material on Jimmy Kimmel in which the band donned skull-painted face masks.

The band has announced a 16-date world tour in support of the album. This includes the already announced Coachella Music and Arts weekends and the SXSW festival. More dates are expected to be announced. The tickets go on sale to the general public on February 8th and 9th, however a fan presale, including American Express Card members, begins on February 6th.
