Randy Blythe Returns to Czech Republic for Trial

As promised from his latest statement regarding the matter, Randy Blythe has returned to the Czech Republic to begin his trial that is expected to be finished by the end of this week on Friday. Read on for more details.

Blythe has been convicted of fourth degree manslaughter of a fan, by the name of Daniel Nosek, who died after sustaining brain injuries, allegedly resulting from a Lamb of God concert in May 2010. He stated back in December of 2012 that he feels “ethically responsible” to return and stand for trial. He currently faces lengthy jail time and will have to compensate the fan’s family 10 million Czech Koruna, which amounts to $530,000 US.

It was reported that Blythe cleaned up before his trial today, posting on his Instagram account a picture of him dressed neatly in a suit, tie, dress shoes, and even blonde hair. The caption accompanying the photo reads:

According to Blabbermouth, Blythe told the court that fans jumping on stage from the crowd was not a normal occurrence, but some reason the Prague show was different. The venue itself, a club named Abaton, was said to have had “inadequate security,” making it easier for fans to access the stage. With all this being said, Blythe addressed the court saying:

“I never saw Daniel and I never came in contact with him.”

Blythe offered the family sympathy in his press statement back in December, saying that they are deserving of answers. With that, Blythe promised and today in court stated:

I’ve kept my word. I said that I would come back to court today and I did. I do not shy away from responsibility. I’m not a person who runs away from problems. But I do not want to be punished for something I did not do.

Drummer and fellow band mate Chris Adler joins Blythe in the Czech Republic and will be serving as a character witness. Trial is planned to conclude at the end of this week and a verdict will hopefully be reached next week, maybe as early as Monday.
