Back in the 90’s, Duran Duran’s keyboardist Nick Rhodes and guitarist Warren Cuccurullo launched a project titled TV Mania: Bored With Prozac and The Internet?, which intended to portray their vision of the future.
The tracks on this futuristic album are made up of loops of television shows and rhythm. After recording these tracks years ago, the material was just recently discovered in an old storage unit. Now that the future that the rockers were talking about is upon us, the album will finally be released on March 11th, 2013. Seeing as this is a very special discovery, the set comes in a couple different packaging options. The two Vinyl Factory limited edition sets are the Boxed Edition and the Gatefold edition. The first comes in a cloth bound box which has a gold and black screen print on the front. Inside the box will be many goodies including: a Nick Rhodes signed Polaroid hand dipped onto white art stock 12″ square paper, a CMYK photo of Nick Rhodes & Warren Cuccurrullo on the same 12″ stock, a black envelope holding Warren Cuccurrullo’s signed A5 paper drawing positioned on 12″ stock, a newspaper print fold out booklet, two 180gram white vinyl, two white disco bags, and four hand-stamped black labels with white ink TV Mania logo. The second option is a little bit less extensive and will feature: a Gatefold sleeve screen printed w/black & gold, two 180gram white vinyl, two white disco bags, four hand-stamped labels with the TV Mania logo, and a newspaper print fold out booklet. A few of the tracks have also been remixed and will be released through Beatport.
