My Bloody Valentine Release New Album MBV Available Immediately For Sale

After 21 years the long awaited third My Bloody Valentine record titled MBV is now available. Kevin Shields made his announcement of a new My Bloody Valentine record back in November and has finally followed upon his word.

MBV is the follow up release to 1991’s Loveless, and is available through the band’s website in digital download (16 bit, WAV, 24bit WAV and 320kbps mp3), CD and limited edition 180 gram vinyl – recorded, mixed and mastered in analogue and comes in a gatefold sleeve.

Cover art for the CD and vinyl versions will be slightly different.

Shields spoke to NME about MBV:

“I think with this record, people who like us will immediately connect with something. Based on the very, very few people who’ve heard stuff – some engineers, the band, and that’s about it – some people think it’s stranger than Loveless. I don’t. I feel like it really frees us up, and in the bigger picture it’s 100 per cent necessary.”

He also mentioned plans of an EP of new material, following the release of MBV.

The band has tour dates in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, the UK and Spain coming up. Dates are below.
