Beak is Geoff Barrow (Portishead), Billy Fuller (Fuzz Against Junk), and Matt Williams (Fairhorns/Knife), and they are amazing. A UK trio, they released their debut self-titled album in September of 2009 allowing no over-dubs as the band recorded over 12-day session in Bristol. Their 2012 sophomore album, >>, is just as dynamic and raw of a display of Krautrock, but more poignant and less rugged. Organ, chanted vocals, battered old synths and a let-loose guitar formulate into a powerful equation. Just like in 2009, Beak has produced an extremely drawing, interesting, and rock-out album that sounds completely different than anything else out there. Stream it here.
