Anthrax Announce New Cover Album Anthems For March 2013 Release

New York heavy metal group Anthrax is set to release a new covers album Anthems due in March 2013.

In the next few months Anthrax will be releasing a covers album full of songs you would not usually expect a heavy metal band to cover. It is an opportunity for Anthrax to showcase some of their favorite bands of the 1970s. In addition to the covers there will be a special remix of their original song “Crawl” originally on their Worship Music album. Anthrax has a good history of recording covers; their cover of Joe Jackson’s “Got The Time” is not only one of their best selling songs but NASA used it to wake up the Mars Rover Curiosity on Mars.

The new album is set to drop March 13, 2013. Anthrax is also headlining the Metal Alliance Tour which runs March 22 through April 20th.

Anthems Cover album includes the following songs:
“Anthem” – Rush
“Jailbreak” – Thin Lizzy
“TNT” – AC/DC
“Big Eyes” – Cheap Trick
“Smokin'” – Boston
“Keep On Runnin'” – Journey
