Producer Tony Visconti Explains David Bowie Will Not Tour For Recent Album The Next Day, Does Not Mean Will Never Tour Again

The good news just keeps coming for all those Bowie fans. First, the icon announced earlier this week that he would be releasing new album in March. It was accompanied by the release of a new single, his first in ten years.

Now, that news is accompanied by the news that touring at some point in the future is not completely off the table either. As Spin clarifies, Bowie will not be touring for this particular album. However, it does not mean that he will never tour again.

Tony Visconti, Bowie’s producer, clarified in a Twitter statement earlier today:

I never said Bowie would never perform live again. Pitchfork made that up. He won’t tour for this album — that’s all I said.

Since Bowie’s 2004 heart attack on stage in Germany, fans thought he would never perform again. He hasn’t done a proper tour since then, but maybe there’s hope for the future.
