Singer/poet/songwriter/activist/composer Serj Tankian announced via his official website that he has written the full musical score for the forthcoming video game Morning Star, out Spring 2013 via Industrial Toys. The game is initially for iOS devices.
The trailer for Morning Star via Industrial Toys features Tankian’s music which can be viewed below and at morningstargame.com.
Tankian previously composed parts of the score on director John Woo’s 2007 Strangehold video game, out on XBOX 360, Playstation 3 and Windows.
Tankian commented on his work on Morning Star:
“I’m really enjoying working on Morning Star because it gives me the ability to create new musical worlds to complement the new visual worlds in the game. Though most of the game play will be action oriented cues, the stunning artwork and static scenes have inspired unique sounds unheard before.”
Morning Star is a shooter game taking place 120 years into the future aboard the research vessel MSRV-Joplin, which features updated military weaponry to explore a mysterious signal within the Solar System. His music comes in during the disaster strikes, to further enhance the battle scenes.
