Deadmau5 Confirmed to Headline Ultra Music Festival 2013

After bashing the EDM music festival, deadmau5 has changed his mind and is now headlining the event. Though he has strong feelings about disliking the festival, deadmau5 claimed that, after getting hundreds of requests, he wanted to do the show for his fans.

According to Consequence of Sound, the EDM super star complained about the even claiming that is was the “definition of insanity – doing the same fucking thing every year, expecting different results every time.” As reported by Spin, Deadmau5 then went on to say, in his 12-minute YouTube video dedicated to griping about the event; “Five hundred and ninety-five fucking dollars for ticket? Wow, someone is laughing to the bank.” After all of these complaints, it seems as if deadmau5 has turned it around because he is now headlining the festival and will perform at the Saturday night closing set for both weekends. That’s right, if you missed our last mxdwn article about Ultra, you will be surprised to know that the festival has been extended to two weekends. That’s not all though, the festival now even has a European leg and will feature EDM legends such as Avicii, Armin Van Buuren, and Carl Cox, as reported in a previous mxdwn article. It’s clear that this year’s Ultra is more than your average music festival. In fact, the Gods of EDM, Swedish House Mafia, have decided to spend their last show ever at this very music festival. You can read more about Swedish House Mafia’s special appearance in this mxdwn article.
