The Flaming Lips released a brand new song for the holidays called “Kindness Song (at Christmas)”, featuring Bon Iver, which is available for streaming below.

They had started a tradition back in 2007 of releasing a limited run secret Christmas CD “The Atlas Eets Christmas Collection” under the moniker “Imagene Peise.” A sticker that was on the CD gave away their identities said “Love Is The Answer – Merry Christmas From The Flaming Lips 2007.”
The collection, which was streaming on their Myspace page, explained the origins being a “master jazz pianist” and committing suicide in 1978, and the long, lost “strange and beautiful” holiday album was rediscovered and re-released.
Since 2009, The Flaming Lips added a new song to the collection, as part of finding another lost recording. In 2011, a free web player that created to stream the songs, including the “Christmas on Mars” film score. It is available at http://atlaseetschristmas.com/
