Perry Farrell is currently spending his time recovering from surgery and writing songs for the new Jane’s Addiction album.
Rolling Stone reports the Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell is on a writing spree presumably on material for the new Jane’s Addiction album. Farrell has been confined to his bed for the last two months while recovery from a surgery but the musician has been using his time wisely. He says he has written sixty songs in the last two weeks claiming, “I haven’t written this much since I was in my twenties.”
These songs are leading up to the development of the band’s next album, the follow up of 2011’s The Great Escape Artist. Originally Farrell planned on continuing themes from The Great Escape Artist but after it “didn’t make a big enough splash” he has changed the song writing direction. He said about the subject:
“It’s not going to be [a continuation of] The Great Escape Artist … I had thought that it would be a great idea. However, I just came up with this other twist to doing the next record. At this point I want to start fresh with a fresh angle.”
