The Residents Announce Release of Ultimate Box Set Packaged In Refrigerator, Available For $100,000

After over forty years of producing music and sixty albums, The Residents have finally released an amazing box set. The only problem is it costs $100,000. The masked musicians guarantee, however, that this box set is worth every penny.

Pitchfork explained that the band has decided to release “The Ultimate Box Set” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their first single, “Santa Dog”. This box set is really nothing like you’ve ever seen. To start, all of the goodies are packaged in a 28 cubic ft refrigerator. Then behind the doors of the stainless steal fridge, the set includes every single music video, DVD, and album on vinyl and CD. To top it all off, there will also be every pressing of Santa Dog, including one from 2012, and a signature giant eye-ball with a top-hat mask. Seeing as the band met in high school in Shreveport, Louisiana in the 1960’s, you can imagine that this fridge is packed with a life-time worth of music and art. After growing up together, the band left for San Francisco in 1966 hoping to make it big, however, their truck broke down in San Mateo, CA and they decided to stick around. Since their start, The Residents have kept their identity a secret, always sporting masks at their shows. In fact, the band’s eye-ball with a top-hat mask has become iconic. If this band’s life-time collection of music just isn’t enough for you, they are also offering a “mystery box” for a whopping five million dollars. Both of these exclusive deals will be on sale throughout the holiday season, however, after Christmas Day, the band will embark on a 40th anniversary tour. To get all of the details on the box set, and maybe laugh a little at the hilarious Randy, frontman for The Residents.
