Tycho is Scott Hansen, a SF based independent graphic artist and musician. His discography dates back to the 2002 EP, Science of Patterns, and recently released a 2012 Deluxe version of his 2011 album, Dive. He composes ambient electro-acoustic music utilizing synths and sampled live instrumentation. Could be compared with Boards of Canada or Bibio, but Hansen, with an innate understanding of composition due to his visual artistry, creates tracks with a good sense of scale and proportion with a heavy sense of tranquility and faraway longing. He is playing 4 shows in California this January, 2 being in San Francisco at The Independent.
