You can’t believe everything you read on the Internet, but Arcade Fire’s Twitter tells no lies. Recent tweets confirmed the bands covert operation to perform a secret concert for friends and family. The real treat was for the ears of the audience members as they debuted some new songs. Read on for more details.
Twitter user ArcadeFiretube’s posts serve as evidence that this secret event took place. The user wrote:
@ArcadeFiretube Arcade Fire, as Les Identiks, played new songs at a secret show last night at the @breakglass_ Studio in Montreal.
Normally, we at mxdwn would search high and low for a video or sound clip to share with you. But unfortunately the event had a strict no photo and no recording policy. According to Stereogum, one slick fan failed at an attempt and the result was the fan’s phone being thrown against the wall.
@ArcadeFiretube No video, no photo and no phones policy at the secret gig last night. Confirmed. #ArcadeFire #LesIdentiks
Apparently, this is how the show went:
@ArcadeFiretube New songs: Heavy use of percussion/rhythm section / Only 1 slow song / 1 punk rock-ish song / A 7-8 minute song opened the show.
